Xperia V has dimensions: 129 x 65 x 10.7 mm, 120 grams; full touchscreen; plastics material and scratch-resistant glass; 3.5 mm audio port; button power/lock, volume rocker; hole mic; microUSB port (around the phone from the top) . 3 capacitive buttons below the screen (back, home and recent apps).

Review Samsung Galaxy Note 3

After getting my Samsung Galaxy S3, Ive been showered by advertisement telling me to get the great next thing. I caved in and decided to upgrade my phone to the Samsung galaxy Note 3; Ive always thought that the phablets will always be too big for me, and includes features that I will never need. However, after juggling whether or not i wanted a phone and a tablet or simply have a phablet, I have made the right investment. Large screen, light weight and powerful - the Samsung Note 3 definitely exceeded my expectation and allows me to do more on my phone.

First impression:

At first glance, you will think that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is heavy due to its screen size - weighing at about 5.93 oz but the weight is distributed so well that the phone actually feels very light; at 5.7 inch in screen the phone sits comfortably on my hand.  The Note 3 comes with an interesting back design, which has a leather like pattern, yet is plastic. One feature that makes the Note 3 stands out is the S pen, which allows you to navigate through your snow and access pen only features (which we will get into). Pen is super responsive and allows me to throw away my pen and paper notes and go all digital. The phone also packs up multiple sensors that can help you use your phone better (air gesture, eye tracking, ect.). As always, changing phones between android is seamless as all my contacts and setting are pretty much synced together once I sign in to my accounts.

Test Drive:

Like I said, if you are upgrading from an Android phone (especially Samsung phones) you will not have a problem in getting your information transferred. Browsing around the phone, I feel that it is snappier and very responsive. Samsung also added feature that allows you to control your phone, they added sensors to track your eyes which allows phone to stay active as long as you are looking at it, or scroll through webpages when you are done reading them. They also includes air gesture that offers similar function except with gesture. I personally only used the face tracker as I read a lot on the phone and it keeps my phone from shutting even though I have not touched it in awhile. The larger screen allows you to have more real estate areas especially when you are trying to multitask (using the multiple window feature) or the pen window. 4G connectivity is solid and phone signal is much stronger then the previous model as now I am getting reception in places where my old phone could not. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 sports a 13 Mega Pixel camera, which takes pretty decent pictures, the camera by default was not setup to its maximum resolution so be sure to change them otherwise you will get pictures with lower quality on your big screen.

The highlight of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the S pen, and I am in love with it. The main difference of the S pen compared to a regular stylus is that it has a sharp tip, giving you precision when you are going to write/draw with it. The S pen is stored conveniently in the bottom right of the phone, and when you take it out it will prompt an S pen menu that allows you to do awesome stuff:

• Action Memo: popped out a sticky page that you can write on with different per colors. Good for taking quick notes
• Scrap Booker: Draw a shape on the screen to keep them in your scrapbook for reference later
• Screen Write: Able to instantly write on your screen and save it as an image
• S Finder: Able to find various things both in your phone and online
• Pen Window: Draws a small window and is able to run compatible adds using the window size you drew.

The pen is very responsive and is able to detect my handwriting pretty well to be transcribed to text.

Battery life is one of the best thing I enjoyed out of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. With the USB 3.0, the phone charges from 1% to full within about 3 hours and is able to hold that charge for about a day. With my usual use of the phone (email sync, occasional texting, soundcloud, and reading a couple of chapters from Play book) the battery in the phone stayed for the whole day before I need to charge it (around 8.00 AM - 9.00 PM), which really makes me feel more comfortable using my phone knowing that it will last for the day.

Conclusion:

The main reason I wanted to invest on a phablet was because I was torn apart between getting a phone and a tablet, with the unlimited internet I have in my phone I do no want to have another device where I have to pay extra for internet; I also do not want to worry about charging another device before I go to bed. With a phablet like this, I do not have to worry about having 2 devices but still have the real estate of a tablet but the convenience of a phone. The S pen removed my need of carrying pen and paper the whole time as it will be in my phone and the long battery life gives me a worry free use of the phone. As a student, I dont think I have pushed the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to its limit - but it sure has succeeded what I needed. Prices has been varied online between $600 - $800, if you can snatch up a deal (such as getting it with a contract for U.S. Carrier) this phone is definitely worth every bang of its buck.

Love Tester de la Blacksmith Software este una dintre cele mai simple dar în acelaşi timp cele mai amuzante aplicaţii, este concepută special pentru cei care cunosc adevărata valoare a vechilor carnavaluri din urmă cu peste 40 de ani. Însă copiii o găsesc probabil mult mai amuzantă.

 

După cum spuneam, această aplicatie este foarte simplă, întreg jocul cuprinde doar trei butoane, respectiv OPEN (Deschide) ; START si jos în colţul din dreapta butonul pentru sunet.

Întreg jocul este format din două imagini : cea cu aparatul cu monezi închisă si cu un afiş , iar cealaltă cu aparatul deschis în care deja putem observa categoriile. Tot ceea ce trebuie să faci după ce ai intrat în el este să dai START iar Love Tester-ul va evalua tipul de dragoste care îţi aparţine.

Muzica care acoperă background-ul este una de carnaval, care incearcă sa te trimită înapoi în timp, cand lumea stătea la coadă în faţa unui astfel de aparat, într-un cadru de carnaval pe malul unui ocean într-o seară liniştită de vară.

În concluzie, aplicaţia ocupă un spaţiu probabil mai mic 

decât unele piese şi îţi oferă o stare mai bună după ce ţi-ai încercat norocul măcar o singură dată. Te va face să zâmbeşti fără să realizezi. Este o aplicaţie care oferă la fel de mult pe cât cere, adică puţin.

Sony Alpha NEX C3 Review

Sonys NEX compact camera system easily stands out among the brands of interchangeable lens systems. Unique signature design, APS-C sensor, minimal buttons. Sony took back some lessons from the first models and improved it in this latest edition, NEX-C3.

Apart from the usual improvements to further reduce the physical size and increasing the sensor size, plus software enhancements, there is nothing to shout about for this model. Fortunately, Sony does not remove any signature features, like what some manufacturers did to their new models in a bid to segment their product line.

What I like:


Video Recording. If you shoot video regularly, the NEX-C3 will make you feel empowered. The weight distribution at the big lens means you get a more stable handling. The shortcut video recording button immediately starts recording, no matter what mode you are in - even during playback mode. During recording, you can adjust EV manually, another critical feature. Finally, you can re-focus manually during recording by half-pressing the shutter button.


Unfortunately, all the button pressing and lens zooming sounds are captured on the recording, so you might want to keep the adjustments to a minimum while the tape is rolling.

Custom Shortcut Keys. Sony NEX series have been criticised for having too few dials and buttons to allow quick changes of settings. To satisfy the advanced users, NEX-C3 allows users to customise 4 buttons: left, right, centre, and bottom. 3 of the buttons will invoke the specified functions immediately, while the centre button allows you to invoke the "custom" item which pulls out a list of 5 custom functions.

With the custom shortcut keys, I can change ISO, drive mode, white balance, AF area in fewer presses. Nevertheless, some functions are not supported and you still need to look for them in the still-confusing menu categories.

Aggressive Auto ISO. Sony is so confident with their high ISO quality that they have no qualms in auto-selecting high ISO levels like 1600. This allows me to capture less blurred shots indoors. Competitors cameras would cap shyly at ISO 800.

Photo Creativity mode under iAuto. Again another trend, iAuto is no longer just full auto. In NEX-C3, users can invoke Photo Creativity to select multiple effects like "layers" to create your unique look. If only the layers can be saved as presets.

External Flash. Sonys solution to making the NEX body small and still offers flash is to bundle a removable flash unit. When not required, you can push the flash down to its "off" position. When required, you can flip up the flash manually and it will fire. This implementation allows you to leave the flash unit always mounted. With other cameras, you would have to remove and insert the flash unit frequently in between uses.

LCD Screen. The NEX-C3 display stands out as sharp, clear and good contrast with 921K pixels. Images look cooler when compared with my computer monitor.

As for the unlikes:

Shutter Sound. Sony NEX series generate loud shutter sounds. I am certainly unable to shoot stealthily or use the continuous shooting mode for too long without provoking any irritation from people around me.

The speed-priority continuous shutter mode is also very sensitive. I had to try very hard not to fire two frames by consciously lifting my finger off promptly.

AF Area and Speed. Generally, the AF hunts quite a fair bit before locking focus, even if I was trying to re-focus the same scene. The Multi-AF Area is also picking obscure areas that I would like to shoot. Instead of selecting the "wrong" areas, the NEX-C3 would simply leave the AF Area to centre. It gives me the impression that it is not trying hard.

Buffer. When shooting in RAW, the NEX-C3 has enough buffer only for 6 continuous shots. Therefore, this camera is certainly not for the trigger-happy desktop-processing enthusiasts.



To Summarise...
The Sony NEX-C3 is a welcome improvement on the NEX series without deviating from the objective of a consumer-friendly jargon-free camera. The body and lens are well-built, and I always appreciate the InfoLithium battery that tells the remaining battery capacity by the percentage. While I did not quite like the NEX-3 which I reviewed last year, the NEX-C3 is more accommodating to my needs, thanks to customisable buttons. I continue to be impressed by its low-noise high ISO handling, though its 18-55mm lens does exhibit chromatic aberration. If you need a compact camera that handles high ISO confidently, and have little concerns about swift manual controls, NEX is it.
